Firstly, here are some things to remember when visiting day clubs in Bali:
Are there cover charges for Bali day clubs?
Every venue is different, some do charge a small entry fee to use the facilities. If you’ve reserved a day bed or table with a minimum spend then entry is usually included in your package. Day clubs may also host ticketed events in which entry is reserved for ticket holders and guest lists. It’s always a good idea to check the day clubs websites and Instagram accounts for information on any special events and entry requirements.
What does minimum spend mean?
When a venue has a minimum spend on a table or day bed it means that to be able to use that area, you need to spend that amount at the bar or restaurant. Basically that is the fee to use the facilities but it’s a 100% credit on food and beverages. Some day clubs can also let you use your credit towards extras like lockers, towel hire etc. Keep in mind that in Bali they add on 10% tax and 5-10% service charge onto the bill.
What area of Bali has the most day clubs?
Canggu, Seminyak, Ubud and Uluwatu are the areas with the most day clubs and they’re all very different in what they offer.
Canggu day clubs
Canggu is the hottest new area in Bali and has thrived from a small surfer town only a decade ago to now being a major hub for dining, nightlife and digital nomads.
One of the benefits of being a new area is space. The grandest beach clubs can be found here including the biggest beach club in the world (Atlas). The day clubs here are more modern, aesthetic and there are new ones popping up all the time.
Seminyak day clubs
Seminyak was the instigator in the Bali day club scene. It started with the famous Potato Head which you may notice does not make this list. Personally, I think it’s a little outdated and overpriced compared to all the newer day clubs that offer more for less.
Nevertheless it still hosts some of Bali’s best day clubs.
Uluwatu day clubs
Uluwatu has some of the more luxurious day clubs, which can also translate to some of the most expensive. However, they are very aesthetic, with lot of clubs sitting atop a cliff with infinity pools and incredible views (especially great for sunsets).
Due to having the nicer beaches they also have actual beach clubs that are on the sand with no pool. The beach is part of the experience and you can partake in water activities like snorkeling and SUP.
Ubud day clubs
You didn’t think day clubs were reserved only for establishments by the beach did you? There are dozens of pool clubs scattered around the outskirts of Ubud and one small one in the town centre as well. Usually raised high with views of the surrounding jungle, they’re are some stunning options out there. They tend to be more relaxed and less party vibes.
Now that you get the general vibe of the areas, let’s dive into the coolest day clubs the island has to offer. In no particular order (well maybe slighty):
1. La Brisa, Canggu
The most iconic sunset spot in Bali, with rustic – almost pirate like – styling of wood, rope and netting. The architecture beautifully blends with the nature around it instead of being built on top of it. You’ll find decks built around the trees and furnishings that compliment the natural surroundings.
There are two pools, a restaurant, deck and range of seating options including bean bags & huts on the beach.
Come on Sundays for their local markets.
How much does it cost to go to La Brisa?
You need to get a table to enter La Brisa so you have somewhere to sit but entry is free. There are a few tables that have no minimum spend requirement. Even though there is no minimum spend it is still expected of you to at least get a drink. Seating with minimum spend starts at 500k IDR for two people (around $31 USD so only $15 each). Most of these can’t be booked online but are first come, first serve. Larger day beds can be booked online and costs start at around 2 million IDR (or $125 USD) for 4 people.
How to book La Brisa
You can check the seating map on La Brisa’s website but only selected areas are bookable.
What is the vibe like at La Brisa?
Most of the time it’s a very chilled atmosphere. It starts to get busy in the later part of the afternoon for those coming to watch the sunset. The music is very relaxed, most people stick to their bean bags or couch seats and enjoy some food and drink whilst admiring the sunset. People hang around while the colours of the sunset are still lingering and some stay for dinner but most of the crowd would have left before it’s dark.
How people dress changes throughout the day, with those coming during the day time dressing in their bikinis so they can swim in the pools and casual dress. By the afternoon most people come for sunset drinks, and dress up a little more.
Every now and then La Brisa will host late night ticketed events with DJs and more of a party vibe. The venue is lit up with red and purple lights which looks amazing with the trees, the beach backdrop and lights on in the pools.
Tips to visiting La Brisa
- If you’re planning to come for sunset, leave with enough time as you may need to wait around for a table. The wait time isn’t usually too long but could potentially be in peak season. Sunset is the most popular time to visit.
- If you want to spend the whole day here then arriving early can also mean you get first pick for a prime day bed spot.
2. FINNS Beach Club, Canggu
Voted the world’s best beach club, I would have to quietly agree. FINNS has three lagoon style pools, one of which is VIP and another being the party pool so it’s 18+ only. The party pool has circle day beds in the water or there are a range of 6-10 people day beds as well as singular beds around the pool or on the beach.
How much does it cost to go to FINNS Beach Club?
FINNS is free to enter but the only seating area that doesn’t require a minimum spend are the tables & stools by the pool bar. Minimum spend on day beds can start as low as 280k ($12) per person for groups of 10 or single day beds start at 650k ($40) per person.
How to book FINNS
I highly recommend pre-booking day beds for FINNS if you are planning a full day there. I have only been able to get a day bed on arrival during off-peak season but they often book out in advance.
Book here for discounted packages with added inclusions & use code: WANDERLUST for 10% off!
What’s the vibe like at FINNS Beach Club?
It is a big party vibe here, but if you’re in the VIP area or the lagoon to the left as you walk in (which is not the party one) it is a little more relaxed. There is a swim up bar in the party pool and a large outdoor dance floor next to it meaning you can see the DJ whilst in the pool.
The day time is generally pretty chill until the afternoon hits when they come around with free shots (in VIP & the party pool) and there’s roving performers. They have popular DJs playing and because it’s free entry many party goers come to boogie late into the evening. This is unlike most other day clubs that tend to wind down after the suns set. If you want to party, this is the day club to choose.
Tips to visiting FINNS
- If you want a fun atmosphere, definitely book the beds around/in the adults only part pool and not on the beach which is a little away from the action.
- They have a 2 for 1 happy hour every day from 7-9pm which includes their bottle service so make sure to utilise that. *Update: noticed for peak season they’ve changed this to 8-9pm the cheeky buggers.
- FINNS is the perfect place to come with a group to spend the whole day but it’s also a great vibe at night as it doesn’t close until midnight. So if you want a taste of FINNS but don’t want to commit to a full day and the cost of a day bed then try coming just before sunset. Enjoy a drink at the bar, a swim and then a dance as the dance floor livens up.
3. Le Bajo, Pererenan
One of Bali’s newest day clubs and a personal favourite of mine. This lagoon style pool is surrounded by sand, comfortable day beds and rice terraces views.
How much does it cost to go to Le Bajo?
Le Bajo has free entry and no minimum spend for day befs before 12pm. After 12pm all day beds have a minimum spend of 500k (total). There are some areas available with no minimum spend which are given out as first come, first serve.
How to book Le Bajo
You can either walk in or book in advance on their website.
What’s the vibe like at Le Bajo?
Very relaxed, you feel like you’re somewhere in the Caribbean just enjoying the sand and a swim (but with added rice terrace views).
Tips to visiting Le Bajo
- They can sometimes book out of day beds especially on weekends so it might be best to book in advance. In saying that, their manual booking system doesn’t always work. We once reserved four day beds in advance but when we arrived they only had two day beds available. Whether they were holding any for us at all, we don’t know. Think it was just luck we got two. We ended up eventually getting one other bed as some people left but we spent most of our time in the pool anyway.
- So if you have a group, I would suggest arriving early to secure beds instead.
4. Luna Beach Club, Tabanan
A brand new venue about 25 minutes north of Canggu. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere which means they have a lot of space. The massive complex is still expanding with a resort and shopping complex being built as well. Situated on a black sand beach, the architecture is futuristic and really unique.
There is a lot here including a restaurant with a private dining area, two pools, a Utopia Cave Club with slide access, beer garden with live music and even a Willy Wonka style ice cream shop. The main stage area is a huge amphitheatre with pod style day beds and a big metal artwork over the DJ booth. The lights are really cool after dark as well.
How much does it cost to visit Luna Beach Club?
Currently free entry to look around and there are limited bean bags scattered around to sit on with no minimum spend. As they only opened in March 2024, this may change but hopefully not. If you want a day bed, minimum spend prices start at 1 million IDR for up to 4 people (250k per person).
How to book Luna Beach Club
You can check prices and book here.
What’s the vibe like at Luna Beach Club?
As it’s so big, the vibes differ depending where you are. During the day the main stage area was very relaxed but got livelier as the sunset. The Utopia Cave Club had a fun atmosphere and more party friendly with no kids allowed after 3pm. I think as this venue establishes more it will get a lot busier.
Tips to visiting Luna Beach Club
- There is no phone reception out there, so it is harder to order Gojeks and Grabs. The main venue is also a buggy ride away from the car park. So you can try to either order one while you have wifi at the venue (before you get the buggy) and hope for the best or bring cash to get a taxi as there are drivers waiting in the car park.
5. Savaya, Uluwatu
Remember when I mentioned that Uluwatu has the most expensive clubs? This one is definitely one of them. The very famous cliff top club previously known as Omnia also turns into a night club with incredible lighting and sound that often brings world famous DJ acts to their decks.
The venue is very stylish with their famous cube bar that sits over the edge of the cliff flanked either side by infinity pools. There is a swim up bar, the cube bar and another next to the dancefloor as well as a restaurant.
How much does it cost to go to Savaya?
Entry starts at 125k for a ticket but expect to pay higher prices when renowned DJs are playing. Ticketed events won’t always have an allocation on the door depending on pre-sales. If it’s a very popular artist then I definitely recommend buying your tickets online early. Drink prices are very expensive here and there is a high minimum spend on tables/day beds so prepare to open your wallets for this one.
Day beds start at 1 million IDR ($62 USD) minimum spend per person but try to organise these early. If you try to organise a table during a big event, expect to have a minimum spend of 20-30 million ($1200-1800 USD) for a large booth. Quite pricey.
How to book Savaya
You can buy tickets on their website or enquire about VIP tables on their website. You can also organise tables upon arrival if there are any left.
What’s the vibe like at Savaya?
During the day it is quite relaxed but it gets busier as night approaches. Famous DJ’s tend to play in the evenings. Majority of the music here is electronic dance music but they often host events focused on other genres such as Afrobeats as an example. Check out Savaya’s event calendar to see who’s playing during your visit.
Tips to visiting Savaya
- Savaya’s dress code is smart casual. They’re not super strict but they won’t allow singlets or active wear etc. Swimwear is fine of course as there is a pool but I do suggest bringing something nice to throw over the top. Some people get a little more glam here than at most places in Bali but there are still a lot of people dressed pretty casual as well.
- If you don’t get a table or day bed there are two free seating areas. One is in the back right hand corner, with a wall blocking the view to the stage and its a bit away from the action. But there is also an area in the left hand corner right by the pool bar. It’s a much nicer area to sit (if you’re lucky to get a seat) or you can at least chill at the bar or in the pool until the dance floor livens up.
6. El Kabron, Uluwatu
Another one of the more expensive and boujee venues in Uluwatu. It’s very elegantly styled with mostly white and gold furnishings and palm trees everywhere. There is a lagoon style infinity pool at the top of a cliff overlooking the ocean with great sunset views. The venue also has a restaurant and a bar stool seating area below the pool.
How much does it cost to go to El Kabron?
El Kabron may have the most expensive day beds in Bali. Prices start at 1.5 million ($92) rupiah per person (minimum 2 people) but this is just for a sofa. An actual day bed that you can lie down on will set you back 1.8 million ($110) per person. And these can go even higher in peak season. 300k ($18) of the price goes towards an amenities fee but the rest can be spent on food and drink.
If you want a cheaper option you can book a table in the sunset theatre which is the bar next to the pool and looks out over the cliff for sunset. No access to the pool is included and the minimum spend is still 800k ($49) per person. An even cheaper option again is to eat at the restaurant with a minimum spend of 400k ($25) per person but you won’t get a very good view of the sunset.
How to book El Kabron
Booking in advance is recommended but if you haven’t been able to, you can still try your luck on the day. It doesn’t often book out but may in peak season.
What’s the vibe like at El Kabron?
It depends on how many people are there. It was quite relaxed and chill when I visited, but picked up in the late afternoon. Saxophone players come around every hour and give a live show which is a pretty cool and unique concept. They also came around and gave us cold towels and ice pops and at one point they even handed us tea towels which we all swung around over our heads for a Greek style saxophone performance.
A parade of bongo drums also came around at one point as well as the glamorous bottle service girls so there’s lots of roaming entertainment. There is a DJ booth and dance floor with a really cool lighting system but it got quieter as the night went on and people started leaving. This may depend on the day you go though.
One of my favourite things about El Kabron was the DJ in the bathroom! We were so shocked walking into a bathroom with red lights and bangers playing. It was a vibe.
Tips to visiting El Kabron
- I recommend trying the Burning Mandarin cocktail for something a little different and spicy! We also loved the Ginger Mule.
- Make sure to ask for the golden goblets when ordering your drinks. They’re super funky and great for the pool and pictures.
7. Cretya, Ubud
Day clubs aren’t exclusive to venues that are on the beach either. Cretya is a stunning example of this, set amongst the rice terraces of Tegalallang near Ubud. It’s in the same complex as Alas Harum which is an attraction that hosts lots of ‘Instagrammable’ photo locations like nests, sculptures, swings and more.
How much does it cost to visit Cretya?
The entrance to Cretya and Alas Harum is 50k IDR or about $3 USD. Free seating is limited to the restaurant or very few options near the pool. If you would like to sit on a day bed there are minimum spend requirements that start at 3 million IDR for two people (1.5 million each) which is up there with some of the most expensive day clubs in Bali.
How to book Cretya
Book in advance here or you can see what’s available on the day as well. If traveling in peak season or if you are in a group then booking in advance is recommended.
What’s the vibe like at Cretya?
The multi-tiered pool and hot tub is the most lively pool club in Ubud. They have a DJ and a lot of areas to enjoy the music, a drink, swim and the view. It get busier in the afternoon and whilst it is a fun vibe it’s not overly crazy or party heavy.
Tips to visiting Cretya
- If you want a more peaceful experience here without the crowds, try their floating breakfast. It’s much quieter in the mornings and you can get some gorgeous photos in the morning light.
8. Palmilla, Uluwatu
Another aesthetically pleasing Instagram worthy pool and beach club in Uluwatu. Palmilla is set on Melasti Beach with views of the turquoise water from the beachside infinity pool. The sandy floored venue has day beds, a restaurant and a bar with swing seats all surrounded by palm trees.
How much does it cost to go to Palmilla?
Entry fee is 100k if paying by card or 125k if paying cash. This fee includes either a small of beer, water, towel hire or a bowl of popcorn. There are free seating areas either on the swing seats at the bar, along a bench by the pool (with minimal shade) or tables upstairs in the restaurant.
Day beds start at 1 million rupiah minimum spend for 2 x day beds & umbrella (500k each) and include your entry fee.
How to book Palmilla
There is no way to pre-book day beds at Palmilla. They are given on a first come, first serve basis. Go early to secure the best beds but if you’re not picky then you should be fine at any time as it is rarely so busy that you won’t find a bed.
What’s the vibe like at Palmilla?
It is very chill. The music is like elevator music almost, there is no DJ. I wouldn’t come here for a party or a big event, it’s just a nice relaxing place and very visually appealing.
Tips to visiting Palmilla
- If you’re wanting one of the beds right by the pool, then go early. I went right as it opened and there was already a line to get in. The first day beds by the pool were taken first. By the afternoon the early arrivals started to leave so you may get lucky coming in the afternoon as well but just keep this in mind.
9. Sundays Beach Club, Uluwatu
One of the only genuine beach clubs in Bali that actually sits on the beach and utilises the stunning white sandy beach and crystal clear turquoise water. The beach is at the bottom of a cliff but there is an inclinator (elevator style cable car) to take you down & up again. There are comfy bean bags on the beach, day beds and cabanas or tables and chairs in the restaurant. The venue has daily sunset bonfires, live music on weekends and also host regular movie nights. Sundays (as you probably could have guessed) are extra special here.
How much does it cost to go to Sundays Beach Club?
Minimum cost is 650k per person which covers entry of 250k and then 400k can go towards food & drink. Included are water activities like kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and snorkelling, a towel and a dedicated bean bag & umbrella.
For the VIP day beds, prices start at 2.8 million IDR ($172 USD) for two people (2 million of that can be used for food and drink).
How to book Sundays Beach Club
Their daily beach passes are the cheapest option and are for walk-ins only so it’s first come, first serve but rarely will it book out. For their VIP experiences bookings are available 90 days in advance.
What’s the vibe like at Sundays Beach Club?
It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, with chill music and a great spot to enjoy the beach but with added comforts and luxuries.
Tips to visiting Sundays Beach Club
- Check for the tide times as the water activities can only be done during low tide. There is also less beach to sit on during high tide so keep that in mind. Scroll to the bottom of their website for helpful information on the daily tide times.
Go to a movie night on the beach!
Sundays Beach Club movie nights are a unique experience I highly recommend. Book using the code WANDERLUST for 10% off!
10. Mrs Sippy, Seminyak
Enjoy the tropical atmosphere at this huge lagoon style pool with a jumping platform, swim up bar, DJ booth, restaurant and even a pool table. It’s one of the rare venues where you can enter without having a reservation or day bed.
How much does it cost to go to Mrs Sippy?
They have a 100k entrance fee per person for pool access and a towel. If you aren’t using the pool and want to visit the sports bar then it is free entry. You can use the picnic table seating with no minimum spend requirement. Daybeds and cabanas start at 1 million IDR for two people (500k per person) minimum spend.
How to book Mrs Sippy
When booking online, the cheapest option for day beds was 2 million IDR for five people. This can definitely be a good option but if you have less people you can also try to get a better price at the door. When I went with just one friend we were offered a day bed for two for 1 million. This was in off-peak season though.
What’s the vibe like at Mrs Sippy?
I think the vibe here really depends on the time of year but also who’s there on the day. It used to be a lot busier but has quietened down due to all of the competition other day clubs offer. It is usually pretty relaxed but can be busy in peak season and if there are big groups. The music is upbeat electronic music and the jumping platform provides great entertainment and hype.
Tips to visiting Mrs Sippy
- It’s more of a day venue, so come for the afternoon. As it’s enclosed by walls and buildings, you don’t get sun in the late afternoon and can’t see the sunset from there. If this is something you would like to do, leave enough time to walk to the beach and find a nice spot for sunset. You could also visit Potato Head for sunset which is close by if you’re feeling like doing a double day club day.
- Happy hour is from 4-6pm every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. You can get 2 for 1 of a wide selection of drinks and discounted pizza.
11. Mari Beach Club, Seminyak
A beach front day club with a swim up bar, lagoon style pool, a restaurant, bar, a range of seating options and a Balinese performance at sunset.
How much does it cost to go to Mari Beach Club?
It is free entry but there is a minimum spend for all seating areas. Prices start at 250k per person for bar seating or 1 million IDR for two day beds (500k per person).
How to book Mari Beach Club
You can make an online reservation or check what is available at the front reception when you arrive.
What’s the vibe like at Mari?
It’s a very relaxed atmosphere with chill music.
Tips to visiting Mari
- If you just want to have a drink and sit at the swim up bar just tell the reception you have friends inside or you’re just going for a swim and drink in the pool.
12. Atlas Beach Club, Canggu
Next to FINNS is the world’s largest beach club. It is massive! The oceanfront infinity pools seem to go on forever and there are layers of pools and private ones for VIP tables. They even have a pool with a slide for kids.
How much does it cost to go to Atlas Beach Fest?
Entry is 200k but there are next to no free seating options apart from sitting in the pools and there is a swim up bar to the left as you walk in. Minimum spend for daybeds starts at 1.5 million IDR ($92 USD) for 4 peoplem which is pretty reasonable and food and drink prices are not too bad.
How to book Atlas Beach Fest
Book day beds with Klook for discounted packaged and extra inclusions. You can book right up to the day before and use the code: WANDERLUST for 10% off.
What’s the vibe like at Atlas?
The vibe is more chill than next door FINNS and feels more empty because of how big it is. As the day goes on the music gets more upbeat. They have fire dancing and cultural shows around sunset time as well which adds a unique element to the day.
In peak season they have a several performances every hour on the hour which was really cool. During off-peak season they still have the one show at 7pm. The venue quietens down in the evening but you could move on to their indoor Atlas Super Club on site. Or next door to FINNS. Atlas also often host big name international music artists so the vibe is really fun when there is an event.
Tips to visiting Atlas
- Unlike some other day clubs, there is probably less urgency to book in advance for this venue as there are so many day beds but it still is recommended.
- Make sure to check their Instagram to see what events they have coming up, as they host some big international artists.
13. Lima Bay, Canggu
Lastly, this new and funky venue. Describing themselves as a pool club with 80’s Euro meets Palm Springs vibes is a pretty accurate representation. It’s a small venue, with rice terrace views, two pools, a Barbie-esque swim up bar and a mix of day beds & cabanas.
How much does it cost to go to Lima Bay?
Lima Bay is another new day club to the scene. It’s a very small venue but super cute. It doesn’t have a minimum spend either for the day beds.
How to book Lima Bay
You can book your day beds in advance here or you can also try seeing what is available upon arrival. This venue rarely books up.
What’s the vibe like at Lima Bay?
Generally it’s got nice upbeat music but is pretty quiet as it’s still a bit of a hidden gem. Often they will host events which are more lively though.
Tips to visiting Lima Bay
- Check their Instagram to see what events they have on to attend or avoid, depending on the day/night you’re going for.
